Renseikan Dojo is a family-owned and operated full-time martial arts school located in Pickering, Ontario. We provide instruction in the traditional Okinawan and Japanese martial arts of Karate, Aikido and Jodo, and have been training students in the Durham Region (Pickering, Ajax, Whitby and Oshawa) and east Toronto region (Scarborough) for the past 20 years.

In addition to our emphasis on traditional, disciplined training, Renseikan Dojo is also very proud of our strong community of students and their families. We offer a full schedule of day and evening classes six days a week, and also hold several social functions for interested students and families.

Our classes are taught by our chief instructor, Ward Jardine, who is assisted by a talented group of blackbelt students. At Renseikan Dojo, most classes are taught by Sensei Jardine, and ALL classes are taught by fully qualified, adult blackbelts.

If you are interested in the martial arts for yourself or for your child, and are looking for a non-competitive style of martial arts, please browse through the many pages of our Web site for more information about our dojo, our classes, and the three different styles of martial arts we offer: Karate, Jodo and Aikido.

We have developed our Web site to provide quality information for students and visitors alike. Follow the links at the top of each page to go to the main pages for Karate, Jodo or Aikido, and browse through the links on the side for more in-depth information about each specific art.

We hope you enjoy browsing through our pages. We update our contact regularly, and hope you visit frequently! If you have any questions, please email us at We look forward to hearing from you or seeing you at the dojo!
