We are Moving!!! Plans are underway to relocate the dojo to 1652A Bayly St. We are very excited about this move. The new dojo will have many improvements including air-conditioning and showers. We will be located at the corner of Brock Rd and Bayly St, one unit west of the KIA car dealership. There is a lot of work to do inorder for us to move in by December 1st so please let us know if you have any expertise in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, drywall, painting, construction or woodworking. There will be lots of work for those without expertise but with time and enthusiasm. There will also be lots of work at the current dojo to restore it back to an empty unit. Schedule Change Starting Thursday September 21st, the Fall/Winter Schedule of Classes will be in effect. Download it here. The only change at this time is the restarting of the Aikido and Karate day classes on Tuesday and Thursday. DVDs Now Available We now have available DVDs of all previous Dojo events, including your last kyu or dan test. Please order from the dojo or email the dojo. Renseikan Dojo Crests

Click on any of the upcoming events listed below to learn more: ThanksGiving Weekend The dojo will be closed Monday October 7th for Thanksgiving. We will be open Saturday October 5th for regular classes Annual Adult Fall BBQ Our Annual Adult Fall BBQ will be held Saturday October 14th. Please sign up at the dojo or email the dojo. This year's Pot Luck event will be at Donna and Greg's home. See the sign up sheet for directions. Karate Fall Kyu Tests We will be holding Karate kyu tests during the regular classes on Tuesday October 10th, 2006. The list of eligible students is posted in the dojo. Aikido Fall Kyu Tests We will be holding Aikido kyu tests during the regular classes on Wednesday October 11th, 2006. The list of eligible students is posted in the dojo. Karate Friendship Night We would like to invite any karate-ka who practice Matsubyashi-Ryu to join us for the last Thursday of every month. After a good warm-up of kihon (basics) we start kata practice and sometimes also add Bunkai (application) and Yakusoku Kumite (pre-arranged sparring) practice to the evening. Our dojo is open to all, regardless of rank or associations. This is a non-political dojo and a fun night of training together in the true spirit of Nagamine Shoshin Sensei's Karate-Do. If you are interested in joining us please contact us for directions and times or feel free to drop in for the 8:45pm adult class on the last Thursday of each month. The next Kata night is Thursday October 26th On Wednesday October 25th we will be doing our "Hajime" training in the adult Aikido class. "Hajime" means to begin and we will be doing techniques rapidly on that command. It is an excellent cardio workout as well as an excellent training tool. When you must react quickly over and over to a command, you have no time to think about what you are going to do - you can only do. That is important in the martial arts. Be sure not to miss this class. After the class we will hold our Shinbokukai (Friendship event) at a local restaurant or in the dojo. CKF Jodo Seminar On Sunday, October 29th 12noon- 4pm we will be holding a CKF Jodo Seminar at Renseikan Dojo in Pickering. Cost is $20.00 per person. The seminar will be held outdoors at Adam's Park in Scarborough. 401 to Port Union Rd. / Port Union Rd South. / Right on second street (Rozell Rd) / Adam's Park is at the end of Rozell Rd. Please sign up in the dojo or email the dojo to register. Fees must be paid in advance.The seminar is open to all CKF members.
