New Shodan

Congratulations Rob

Renseikan Dojo is very proud of our newest karate black belt, Rob Knox, who passed his black belt test Sunday June 9th. Karate, Aikido and Jodo students from Renseikan Dojo and other dojo were in attendance for this very special day. Click on above picture for some preliminary pictures from Rob's Shodan test.

Spring BBQ and Family Picnic

We had wonderful weather for our annual BBQ and Family Picnic. There was plenty to eat and lots of games and activities to keep both children and adults busy and entertained. Those who missed this event will not want to miss next years! Click here for some pictures from the Family Picnic. We were unable to get pictures from the children versus the adults soccer game, but if I remember correctly We Won!! (Thanks to Mike and Joe and everyone else)

May Jodo Seminar

Namitome Sensei 8th dan, hanshi was again the special guest and instructor at the annual Guelph Jodo seminar held May 22-24th. Namitome Sensei has a very easy and pleasant way of teaching and worked very hard with junior and senior students over the three days and nights.Click here for some preliminary pictures from this fantastic seminar and examination.

Nagamine Sensei Seminar

Soke Nagamine Takayoshi Sensei, 9th dan, held an exciting karate seminar at the Anshin Dojo, Mississauga, on May 10th - 12th weekend. The seminar was very well attended by Renseikan students and everyone enjoyed themselves. Nagamine Sensei really enjoyed himself as he taught basics, kata and bunkai to all attendees. Click on the above picture to see some photos from the Saturday session

Kata Night

We would like to invite any karate-ka who practice Matsubyashi-Ryu to join us for the last Thursday of every month. After a good warm-up of kihon (basics) we start kata practice and decided this month to also add Bunkai (application) and Yakusoku Kumite (pre-arranged sparring) practice to the evening. Our dojo is open to all, regardless of rank or associations. This is a non-political dojo and a fun night of training together in the true spirit of Nagamine Shoshin Sensei's Karate-Do. If you are interested in joining us please contact us for directions and times or feel free to drop in for the 8pm adult class on the last Thursday of each month.

*** Summer Day Camps ***
