Congratulations to Mark Hamlyn for passing his Nidan Examination.
Mark Hamlyn was successful in testing for his second degree black belt on Sunday April 25, 2004. Mark has worked very hard and was well supported during his test by the other yudansha (black belts). We will have pictures from his examination soon.

Heard Around the Dojo
Dojo Spring Cleaning
Thanks to all the students who gave up part of their Saturday afternoon to clean the dojo from top to bottom. We had lots of busy hands and finished very quickly. Thanks again!
Aikido Black Belt Test
There will be an aikido black belt test (shodan) on Sunday May 16th at 1pm. All students, families and friends are welcome to attend ad support your fellow students.
Adult Summer Martial Arts Camp
Once again we will be running our adult martial arts weekend camp on July 23-25, 2004. We will be at Ecology Retreat Centre in Hockley Valley. It is a beautiful, isolated location and the accommodations and food are exceptional. The training begins Friday night and resumes 6am on Saturday. after a full day of training on Saturday , camp fire and relaxation will get going again at 6am Sunday morning. Partcipants will be exposed to karate, aikido, jodo, judo, meditation and exercise. It is an intense weekend with more than 20 hours of instruction. This is the one event of 2004 you will not want to miss. Sign up at the dojo today. For interested parties from other dojo or associations please email for registration information or come by the dojo as soon as possible.

Kata Night
We would like to invite any karate-ka who practice Matsubyashi-Ryu to join us for the last Thursday of every month. After a good warm-up of kihon (basics) we start kata practice and sometimes also add Bunkai (application) and Yakusoku Kumite (pre-arranged sparring) practice to the evening. Our dojo is open to all, regardless of rank or associations. This is a non-political dojo and a fun night of training together in the true spirit of Nagamine Shoshin Sensei's Karate-Do. If you are interested in joining us please contact us for directions and times or feel free to drop in for the 8pm adult class on the last Thursday of each month.

The students of Renseikan Dojo are invited to join a student only email list. Just click here to subscribe. Belle Wong and Lynn Elwood are the moderators and all questions should be directed to them through the group.
On-Line Student Manuals
The student Karate-do, Aikido and Jodo manuals are on-line and can be viewed from the Student Page. We are working on putting them into Adobe format and in printed format.
