Kata Night
We would like to invite any karate-ka who practice Matsubyashi-Ryu to join us for the last Thursday of every month. After a good warm-up of kihon (basics) we start kata practice and decided this month to also add Bunkai (application) and Yakusoku Kumite (pre-arranged sparring) practice to the evening. Our dojo is open to all, regardless of rank or associations. This is a non-political dojo and a fun night of training together in the true spirit of Nagamine Shoshin Sensei's Karate-Do. If you are interested in joining us please contact us for directions and times or feel free to drop in for the 8pm adult class on the last Thursday of each month.
Click here for some pictures from April's Kata Night. We had visitors from Whitby and Ajax.
Renseikan Dojo is very proud of our newest karate black belt, Lynn Elwood, who passed her black belt test Sunday April 14th. Many of the Karate, Aikido and Jodo students were in attendance for this very special day.Click on above picture for some preliminary pictures from Lynn's Shodan test.
*** Summer Day Camps ***
This year Renseikan Dojo, in association with Zen Living Studios, will be holding week-long summer day camps for children ages 7 and up. The camps will run Monday to Friday, from 9:00am - 3:30pm. There are two camp sessions available, and registration will be on a first come first serve basis. The cost for each session is $150.00 plus a small materials fee (expected to be between $10 - $12).
