Heard Around The Dojo Students, Need Some Community Hours?? While at Canada Blooms this year I noticed a booth set up by an organization "10,000 Trees for the Rouge". They are holding a tree planting on the Sunday following Earth Day, Sunday April 27th. The day starts at 9am (you can come anytime after that) rain or shine, and they even provide lunch!! Just sign in at the Registration Tent and have fun while helping our Community and the environment. You can download the Information and a Registration Form here, fill it out and bring it with you on Sunday. The map to the location is on the bottom of the Registration Form. Of course this day is open to everyone not just High School students. Shioda Yasuhisa Kancho Seminar
Kancho Shioda Sensei ran a very informative and important
seminar at AYC (hosted by Kimeda Sensei) on Friday February 29 - Sunday March 2nd. Kancho was joined and assisted
by Shihan Watanabe Ikuo Sensei and Morita Sensei. There were no video or pictures allowed at this three day event,
but everyone was far too busy training to take any pictures anyway. Kancho will be returning for a
cross Canada tour in May, so be sure not to miss him then. Karate Kyu Test Results

Inspiration Renseikan Dojo Shirts We are taking orders for Renseikan Dojo T-Shirts, Crew neck Sweat shirts & Hooded Sweat Shirts. They come in a variety of colours and you have your choice of which martial art is on the front of the shirt. Print and fill out the order form and bring it in to the dojo to get your order processed. It can take 10-14 days to get the shirts so don't delay, order yours today. We also have weapons, uniforms and other good ideas. Please ask for our new price list at the dojo soon. Click on any of the upcoming events listed below to learn more: March Break During March Break, there will not be any day classes on Tuesday March 11 and Thursday March 13th. All other classes will run as usual Easter Monday The dojo will be closed Monday March 24th for Easter Monday. EFT Clinic Many of you have heard me talk about EFT or Emotional Freedom Techniques, as a form of self help for virtually any problem you can think of. It is an easy tapping routine you learn to do on yourself which uses several key acupuncture points on the meridians. This energy healing technique was originally designed to cure people of phobias in record breaking time. Subsequently people have tried this very simple yet highly effective technique on a myriad of problems both physical and emotional. The key to getting very effective results with EFT is getting to the core issue underlying the problem. Working with someone, one-on-one or in a group, can often help you be more effective then on your own. The next EFT group workshop is on Sunday March 30th from 10am - 12 noon. There will be a $15 fee for the session. The sessions are open to the public.
On Wednesday March 26th we will be doing our "Hajime" training in the adult Aikido class. "Hajime" means to begin and we will be doing techniques rapidly on that command. It is an excellent cardio workout as well as an excellent training tool. When you must react quickly over and over to a command, you have no time to think about what you are going to do - you can only do. That is important in the martial arts. Be sure not to miss this class. After the class we will hold our Shinbokukai (Friendship event) at a local restaurant or in the dojo.
Karate Friendship Night We would like to invite any karate-ka who practice Matsubyashi-Ryu to join us for the last Thursday of every month. After a good warm-up of kihon (basics) we start kata practice and sometimes also add Bunkai (application) and Yakusoku Kumite (pre-arranged sparring) practice to the evening. Our dojo is open to all, regardless of rank or associations. This is a non-political dojo and a fun night of training together in the true spirit of Nagamine Shoshin Sensei's Karate-Do. If you are interested in joining us please contact us for directions and times or feel free to drop in for the 8:45pm adult class on the last Thursday of each month.
