The Monday Jodo class will begin at 6:00pm instead of 6:30pm effective March 1st. The 30 minute earlier start time will greatly assist in getting the new second children's aikido class off to an earlier start.

Children's Aikido Schedule Change (March 1st)

We have added a second children's Aikido class (Monday 7:00pm - 8:00pm). Children will now be able to attend aikido classes Monday(7pm) and Friday (7pm) effective March 1st

Kagami Biraki Shiki
2003

On Sunday January 26th, we celebrated Kagami Biraki. The day began with aikido kyu tests, jodo kyu tests and karate-do kyu tests. The annual Student-of-the-Year awards were given out and a special announcement that Adam Chin Leung Kam was successful in his Shodan Test (Aikido). taken earlier (Sunday January 19th).
The day ended with a small traditional party. Everyone enjoyed the Red Bean soup with rice cake, sushi and oranges. The meal was served with Sake and green tea.
Congratulations to all who passed their tests.

Kata Night

We would like to invite any karate-ka who practice Matsubyashi-Ryu to join us for the last Thursday of every month. After a good warm-up of kihon (basics) we start kata practice and sometimes also add Bunkai (application) and Yakusoku Kumite (pre-arranged sparring) practice to the evening. Our dojo is open to all, regardless of rank or associations. This is a non-political dojo and a fun night of training together in the true spirit of Nagamine Shoshin Sensei's Karate-Do. If you are interested in joining us please contact us for directions and times or feel free to drop in for the 8pm adult class on the last Thursday of each month.
