
Jodo Class Instruction
Jodo classes at Renseikan Dojo are taught by our chief instructor, Ward Jardine.
He is assisted in classes by his experienced Jodo blackbelt students.

Jardine Sensei |
Ward Jardine is the owner and chief instructor (Sensei) of Renseikan Dojo in Pickering,
Ontario. In addition to teaching martial arts full-time at the Dojo for the past 20 years,
he also created and ran a martial arts program within the Montessori school system for
10 years, and facilitated several martial arts workshops in the Ontario public school system.
Sensei holds advanced degree blackbelts in Karate, Aikido, Jodo and Judo, and has trained
extensively in the martial arts for over 35 years. With over 30 years of experience
teaching the martial arts, he has instructed thousands of children and adults in Karate-do,
Aikido, Judo and Jodo. He has also been a guest participant/instructor at martial arts
demonstrations in Canada, the United States and Japan. |

Renseikan's Alumni Jodo Blackbelts

Carl Ignatius has trained under Sensei for over 13 years, in the martial arts of Karate,
Aikido, Jodo and Judo. He began his Jodo training in 2000. He currently holds a shodan
(1st degree blackbelt) in Jodo and shodan (1st degree blackbelt) in Aikido.

Lynn Elwood has been training in Jodo under Sensei since 2000. She currently holds a shodan
(1st degree blackbelt) in Jodo and a Yondan (4th degree balckbelt) in Karate-Do.

On Saturday November 22nd, 2008 Robert Tompkins passed away. He was in a battle with
cancer and fought until the end. Robert,an accomplished martial artist, trained under Sensei in Jodo from 2004,
and he had attained the rank of Shodan but would have been Nidan if he hadn't had to take the last year off to
focus all his efforts in this battle. He is sadly missed by all at the dojo.

Don Croft joined Renseikan Dojo to start his training in Jodo in 2000, under Sensei.
He currently holds a yondan (4th degree blackbelt) in Jodo. He left Renseikan Dojo in 2011 to teach Jodo in Mississauga.
