Aikido classes at Renseikan Dojo are taught by our chief instructor, Ward Jardine. He is assisted in classes by his experienced blackbelt Aikido students.

  Renseikan's Chief Instructor - Ward Jardine

Jardine Sensei
Ward Jardine is the owner and chief instructor (Sensei) of Renseikan Dojo in Pickering, Ontario. In addition to teaching martial arts full-time at the Dojo for the past 15 years, he also created and ran a martial arts program within the Montessori school system for 10 years, and facilitated several martial arts workshops in the Ontario public school system.

Sensei holds advanced degree blackbelts in Karate, Aikido, Jodo and Judo, and has trained extensively in the martial arts for 30 years. With over 25 years of experience teaching the martial arts, he has instructed thousands of children and adults in Karate-do, Aikido, Judo and Jodo. He has also been a guest participant/instructor at martial arts demonstrations in Canada, the United States and Japan.

Raymond Chong
Raymond Chong currently holds a sandan (3rd degree blackbelt) in Aikido. He has trained extensively in Aikido for over ten years. He began his Aikido training with Karasawa Sensei, and is now training exclusively under at the Renseikan Dojo.

  Carl Ignatius

Carl Ignatius
Carl Ignatius has trained under Sensei for over 13 years, in the martial arts of Karate, Aikido, Jodo and Judo. He began his Aikido training in 1997 and currently holds a shodan (1st degree blackbelt) in Aikido.


Saeed Mirafzal
Saeed Mirafzal has been training in Aikido under Sensei since 1998. He currently holds a nidan (2nd degree blackbelt) in Aikido.

  Rick Elwood

Rick Elwood
Rick Elwood has been training in Aikido under Sensei since 1998. He currently holds a nidan (2nd degree blackbelt) in Aikido.


Ian Azevedo
Ian Azevedo started his Aikido training many years ago mainly under Takashi Kimeda Sensei 8th Dan in Toronto. He took some time off to be with his growing family but has returned to Aikido and his whole family now train at Renseikan Dojo under Jardine Sensei. He currently holds of shodan (1st degree blackbelt) in Aikido.

Adam Chin Leung Kam
Adam Chin Leung Kam trained in Aikido under both Sensei and Karasawa Sensei. He holds a shodan (1st degree blackbelt) in Aikido and runs an Independent branch Aikido Dojo - Torakan Dojo in Trinidad & Tobago.
